Saturday’s GI Shadwell Turf Mile S. winner Grand Arch (Arch) has exited his win in good form and will look forward to the GI Breeders’ Cup Mile. “We’ll be here the next 28 days and you know where to find us,” trainer Brian Lynch said Sunday morning. “He is staying here and he’ll have one work before the Breeders’ Cup. I like to space his races out, but he is lightly raced this year [with five starts]. But we are here and I don’t have to ship, so all the signs are good.”
Shadwell Turf Mile runner-up The Pizza Man (English Channel) will train up to the Breeder’s Cup Mile at Churchill Downs, according to trainer Roger Brueggemann. “So far, very well,” Brueggemann said Sunday morning of how The Pizza Man exited the race. “He went back to Churchill last night.”
Dutch Connection (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}), who finished fifth as the favorite, will likely be headed back to Europe, according to Joe Herbert, assistant to trainer Charlie Hills. “He didn’t handle the turns well,” Herbert explained. “His best races at home have been on the straight.”
